Riverbend Ultimate Frisbee Club
Now recruiting Middle School students (grades 6-8) to play for the Spring season (March - May) of 2026. Ultimate Frisbee is a co-ed sport. All are welcome from Brookfield, Riverside, Lyons, Berwyn, and beyond. No prior experience of the game is necessary. Ultimate Frisbee is self-refereed and mostly non-contact. A truly unique and defining element is what we call “The Spirit of the Game.” https://usaultimate.org/spirit-of-the-game/ These underlying principles reinforce mutual respect and trust between opponents; communication and conflict resolution skills; and self confidence – both on and off the field of play.
Riverbend Team Details
- Practices will be twice weekly after school in Riverside and Lyons. Cleats are recommended, but not required.
- A few competitive games will be scheduled with nearby teams in Western Springs and Oak Park.
- We will travel to optional weekend tournaments when we have enough students who are available to play. Tournament participation requires player registration with Illinois Ultimate (around $30 annually).
- Our mascot is the Flying Sasquatch! Team jerseys may be ordered if we have 14 players who are committed to the full season.
- At the end of the season we will take a trip to Evanston together to watch a game of the Chicago Union
- Summer camps and clinics are available around the West Suburbs for students who would like to continue training in the off-season.
