Events at Riverside Presbyterian Church
Pastor (re)Installation:  Sunday, November 2nd.
Though Pastor Mark has been at RPC for two years already, his terms of call have changed to “undesignated,” and so we will be hosting another installation ceremony on behalf of the Presbytery of Chicago.  Rev. Julio Pena will be preaching and Rev Beth Freese Dammers will be presiding over communion.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend this joyful celebration of ministry.
Upcoming Scottswood Singers performances:  November 9th & December 7th.
Our children’s choir is the best!
Handel's Messiah:  Sunday, December 14th, 4pm
Join us on the 2nd Sunday in December as we celebrate Advent with Handel’s Messiah, a tradition since 1986.  The RPC choir is joined by volunteer singers from all around the western suburbs, as well as professional soloists and orchestra, and we present the “Christmas” section of the famous oratorio along with selected portions of the other sections. This year the performance will be conducted by our Volunteer in Mission, Doug Asbury.  The chorus rehearses in the sanctuary on the first and second Saturdays in December from 10 am to noon, has a final dress rehearsal with soloists and orchestra on Sunday at 1:30, and performs at 4 pm before a large and enthusiastic audience. This annual event has no admission charge but is supported by free-will offerings at the door and by other donations often made in honor or memory of the donor’s loved ones.  Contact Director of Community Programs, Lynda Nadkarni if you would like more information about participating.
Children’s Christmas Pageant:  Sunday, December 21st
Family-Friendly Christmas Eve Service:  Wednesday, December 24th, 4pm.
